West, Lane & Schlager is Committed to a High Performing, Inclusive Organization

WLS works with The U.S. Chamber of Commerce which has established the Institute for Diversity and Emerging Business (IDEB) to support the diversity, equity and inclusion efforts of its member companies and trade associations.

The IDEB:

  • Customizes initiatives to enhance workforce and supplier diversity
  • Convenes corporate professionals to develop and share best practices
  • Develops diverse talent pipelines for C-Suite and corporate boards

In December 2018, West, Lane & Schlager Realty Advisors entered into a partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s IDEB whereby the IDEB will provide support to WLS in its commitment to develop an inclusive organization. WLS is the first small business in the country to enter into this partnership. Other participating organizations include Salesforce, American Gaming Association, RSM (accounting), Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, Security Industry Association, etc.

The U.S. Chamber’s Next Gen Business Partnership works with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) across the country to promote greater diversity at all levels of business.  The program recruits and exposes minority students to career opportunities in companies and trade associations; promotes entrepreneurship; and encourages knowledge sharing among academics and business executives.

Summer Internship Program:

In conjunction with the IDEB’s Next Gen Business Partnership, we annually recruit paid summer interns to work out at our firm and learn about commercial real estate. Our 2019 summer intern, Sean Roberts, is now our Social Media Marketing Manager.
