David, through his company, Guild Partners, LLC, regularly partners with WLS in serving the leasing requirements of major tenant organizations.
David was formerly a principal and group leader with the Washington, DC commercial real estate firm of Barnes Morris Pardoe & Foster, Inc (BMPF). Upon acquisition of BMPF, he served as a Senior Managing Director with its successor firms, Insignia/ESG and CBRE.
In 2005 he formed his own company to continue to provide tenant representation and consulting services. Notably, in this last connection, he served as a subject-matter expert to Accenture in that company’s “Smart Buildings” program, designed to introduce energy-saving technologies into the commercial real estate industry.
MARKET & INDUSTRY FOCUS
Throughout his career, David has specialized in representing tenant organizations in their leasing and acquisition of office space with requirements ranging up to 300,000sf, primarily in the DC Metro area.
With his legal background and strong analytical skills, he is particularly adept at restructuring existing leaseholds and negotiating for new locations — so as to achieve substantial near term savings as well as long-term value for his tenant clients.
He has had extensive experience representing a wide variety of tenant organizations. This has enabled his ability to help guide the decision-making process and achieve consensus amongst the various stakeholders, including: leadership, management, employees, Board members, equity investors, etc.
EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS, & COMMUNITY WORK
David is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (B.A. Economics) and the Cornell Law School, and is a member of the DC Bar (Inactive Status).
David has actively contributed to a variety of business publications, presented at many industry forums and Continuing Legal Education programs and received many DC Board of Realtors ‘Top Producer’ Awards. He also served for two terms on the Board of Equalization for Arlington County, VA (tax appeals) as the commercial real estate expert.
David is an active investor and provides advisory and business development guidance to a number of early-stage technology companies.
